Craziness

Last night was a little nutty.

We cleaning up the supper dishes. There were 5 people in our little kitchen. My mom was in the bathroom with Ethan, were he was working on going to the potty. (He has recently started doing this.)

The rest of us were all trying to rinse the plates and load the dishwasher. Our dishwasher is in a smaller corner of our kitchen. Having everyone in our family trying to work around it is not simple. And having everybody running the sink rinser thingie at the same time can result in a few splashes.

Then we heard that Ethan had peed in his little mini potty. He then proceeded to carry the small plastic potty around the house to show everybody, pouring the contents all over the floor.

Just at that moment, Eli, in his fuzzy pajamas came around the corner carrying the full water jug from the supper table. He stepped in the small puddle Ethan had just left and his feet slid right out from under him. The jug went up, and Eli went down.

When I came out of the laundry room, Eli was lying in the middle of a small lake on the kitchen floor. Three other members of our family dodge the puddle as they carry other various objects from the table into the kitchen.

Miles and Isabel run to get towels out of the bathroom. Eli is crying and wailing uncontrolably.

"Eli," I said. "What's wrong, did you hurt yourself?"

"Noooooo!" he wailed.

"Then what's wrong?" I asked.

"My...jammies...are....WET!!!"

A few days ago, I wrote about calmness. The calmness days are somewhat few and far between. Calmness is indeed lovely.

But you know what?

Craziness is pretty fun too.
